Keeping kids in school - together, we can make it happen!
In April, 2009 a group of determined community volunteers decided that they would try to help keep kids in school by joining forces as Friends of Communities In Schools of San Antonio.
The mission of Friends is to contribute to the health and well-being of the youth of San Antonio by supporting CIS-SA's efforts to help young people stay in school and achieve in life. Our goals are to increase awareness of Communities In Schools and to engage volunteers who want to help at-risk students.
Friends members have opportunities to learn how Communities In Schools of San Antonio meets the needs of disadvantaged students, and to understand how it succeeds in turning potential dropouts into productive members of our society. There are one-time volunteer opportunities and jobs on the Friends Steering Committee if you have some time to give.
Please join us! Annual family membership $25, Honor Roll is $50, Dean’s List is $100, Academic All Star is $250 and Summa Cum Laude is an even more generous contribution.
To join, click on the Donate Now button on this page and follow the prompts. In the “purpose” section, fill in Friends.
