Stuff the Bus 2011 a Big Success!

Our 18th annual city-wide school supply drive on August 5 was a tremendous success, collecting over $320,000 in donations.

Many, many thanks to all our dedicated volunteers, generous sponsors and compassionate donors -

we couldn't do it without you!

Thank You for Supporting Project Stuff the Bus!

Every year, too many San Antonio children start the school year without the tools they need to succeed – simple school supplies such as pens, pencils, paper, notebooks, crayons and more. You can help change that by contributing to one of the largest school supplies drive in South Texas!

Businesses, organizations and community groups can get involved by sponsoring an employee/member campaign to collect school supplies or make a monetary contribution.

Stuff the Bus will provide school supplies to disadvantaged students throughout our community through these organizations:

  • Communities In Schools of San Antonio
  • Bexar County Juvenile Probation Dept.
  • Boys & Girls Club of San Antonio
  • The Children's Shelter
  • ChildSafe
  • Family Violence Prevention Services
  • Roy Maas Youth Alternatives Inc.
  • San Antonio Youth Centers
  • South Texas Aids Family Network
  • Select Archdiocese Catholic Schools

For over 26 years Communities In Schools of San Antonio has helped kids stay in school and achieve in life. CIS-San Antonio works with more than 8,000 students and their families in 8 school districts across Bexar County.

BUA Eagle Run Supports Communities In Schools of San Antonio
Thank you for supporting Baptist University of the Américas for its fifth annual Eagle Run on October 15!

BUA and CIS-SA are different chambers of the same heart, both dedicated to raising the educational expectations and achievements of students who, traditionally, have had those things in short supply. The more we—and everyone else in San Antonio—help CIS-SA achieve its goals the more all of our city benefits.

The Eagle Run is just part of Baptist University of the América’s support of CIS-SA’s programs. BUA's students, faculty and staff are involved with the mentoring program at schools near their campus, and each summer BUA hosts CIS-SA’s Upward Bound program where scores of high school students spend five weeks on campus participating in a college prep course.

Participants supported at-risk students served by CIS-SA in schools across Bexar County, helping them to dream the dream of higher education and a brighter future - for them and for our community.
