Melissa is a Certified Management Accountant who comes from Ohio where she discovered her penchant for counting things – number of cows in the field, number of cornstalks in the row, number of stars in the night sky. At Communities In Schools, Melissa brings her 20+ years of experience in Finance and Operational roles to direct the Accounting and Finance functions of the Agency, as well as overseeing the Marketing and Development functions. When her left brain is not fighting her right brain, she can be found picking up stray dogs, pursuing garage sales for mid-century modern treasures, and fishing on Copano Bay. Her favorite word is kerfuffle.
