210-998-4840I have work for Communities in Schools of San Antonio for over 16 years and am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. I have over 11 years of counseling experience, including over four years of experience in supervising LPC Associates. All of my work has been with at-risk youth and their families and has included assisting teachers and administrators in how to appropriately respond to their student’s unique and challenging behavioral and emotional needs. I am well versed in Trauma-Informed practices and am a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. I also have specialized training in Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques.
Trust Based Relational Intervention: Empowering
Are you a parent, educator, or youth development professional looking to grow from Trauma-Informed to providing Trauma-Informed Care but haven’t learned the skills or tactics involved? In this session you will learn about the TBRI principle of empowering. Empowerment strategies are a powerful way for those working with children/youth to recognize a their physiological needs and develop ways to meet those needs. In this section we will discuss sensory processing and the importance of using physiological and ecological strategies to help children/youth succeed both in and out of the classroom.
