I have work for Communities in Schools of San Antonio for over 16 years and am a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor through the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors. I have over 11 years of counseling experience, including over four years of experience in supervising LPC Associates. All of my work has been with at-risk youth and their families and has included assisting teachers and administrators in how to appropriately respond to their student’s unique and challenging behavioral and emotional needs. I am well versed in Trauma-Informed practices and am a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) Practitioner through the Karyn Purvis Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. I also have specialized training in Mindfulness and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques.

Trust-Based Relational Intervention: Overview

Are you a parent, educator, or youth development professional looking to grow from Trauma-Informed to providing Trauma-Informed Care but haven’t learned the skills or tactics involved? In this overview you will learn about the 3 principles of TBRI: empowering, connecting, and correcting. These 3 principles are powerful tools to help a child or youth get back on the right developmental track and disarm fear-based behaviors like hitting, kicking, talking back, withdrawing, throwing things or tantrums. An evidence-based practice, TBRI gives caregivers tools to improve relationships and empower the children and youth in their care. This course is for adults working or living with children and/or youth. CEU’s included.
